Sustainable development

Development within the consideration of future requirements; in simple words, development should not be at the cost of future aspirations. By sustainable development, we mean development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. We should adopt the process of development, keeping in mind futuristic goals for upcoming generations. For instance, the use of ac, refrigerators which release a high amount of CFCs is the main reason for ozone layer depletion. This can create a big problem for future generations; people will have skin cancer and many other diseases, so it is better to have a proper mechanism to address the issue of sustainable development. Why do we say switch off the lights if not in use? It is because electricity is a form of energy and its generation is limited, so we need to think about the common interest of people rather than just personal interest and goals. We all know resources are limited, but our wants are unlimited, so we need to maintain a balance between essential needs.
