BENCH

The term ‘Bench’ in legal sense means ‘a judge or magistrate sitting in court in judicial capacity’. A collective sitting arrangement of judges or magistrates is also referred to as the term ‘Bench’.  e.g.  we see news and it says that 9 judges' bench gave this judgment, it means that the collective arrangement of judges was 9 who sat there and delivered the judgment in that particular case.
