Confiscate

Confiscation is the acquisition of private property by the government without giving any compensation. It happens legally when the government seizes property obtained or employed in illegal practices, such as boats used to smuggle illegal drugs. The confiscation may also be referred to as forfeiture.

Confiscation in simpler terms is an arrest of property.
