The law states that if someone knocks on your door in Scotland and wants to use the bathroom, you are bound by law to let them enter. It is said that the Scottish people have a strong sense of hospitality which grew up to become a local custom. However, this has been debunked by the Law Commission, which says that it cannot find evidence that it was on the statute book.
