BARRISTER

The first known use of the word Barrister was in the 15th century. The word Barrister is commonly used in English superior courts . it means “ a counsel admitted to plead at the bar and undertake the public trial of causes”. In simple words a barrister is a lawyer , but in British courts they prefer to use the term ‘Barrister’ instead of ‘ Lawyer’. The role of a barrister is the same as a lawyer, they take cases to superior courts,  giving expertise legal advice, researching the history of  law etc. In common law tradition  the terms ‘Barrister’ and ‘Lawyer’ were formally split into two and were considered completely two different professions but in modern age both the terms are used as synonyms and are considered as same professions.
