We are recruiting an India/UK/US qualified lawyer who can be effective member of the KGS OGC team, that complements the activities of International Office of the General Counsel of KPMG International. The role is focused on contracts for the procurement of technology and other goods and services to KPMG International and its member firms around the world. The role is based out of Gurugram office of KGS.

Responsibilities

The new recruit will complement the activities of the members of the IOGC team by:

  • assisting with respect to procurement agreements, with a particular focus on technology and services contracts
  • responding to miscellaneous contract-related enquiries
  • providing advice on contract and related matters
  • drafting and advising on contract terms
  • providing solutions to contract-related problems
  • providing support on confidentiality and other agreements as required
  • liaising with other Global professionals in risk management, data privacy, IT and data security, technology and software development, IT infrastructure;
  • helping with the development of policies and processes with respect to procurement agreements; and
  • assisting with other similar drafting or advice within the person’s skillset.

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Qualifications: LLM or LLM
  • Total Experience: The candidate must have minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm or expertise in technology agreements in a large MNC.
  • Skillset: Contract Specialist

Preferred

  • experience handling legal or contracting queries and drafting or amending legal documents, including counselling on and negotiating a variety of technology agreements
  • Indian or UK or US qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant post qualification experience
  • analytical abilities
  • ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly
  • ability to persuade and influence where necessary
  • strong negotiating abilities and drafting skills
  • capabilities in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of websites
  • willingness to acquire knowledge of and follow IOGC’s practices and processes
  • ability to be calm under pressure
  • ability to handle difficult or pressurized situations or people
  • commercial judgement and the ability to balance conflicting demands
  • initiative, self-confidence and authority
  • understanding of the risks faced by providers of professional services
  • understands how to balance the needs, demands and requirements of a global business with legal risks and protections
  • awareness of cultural issues affecting regulated professional services firms
  • must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume legal department with many different stakeholders worldwide.
