Requirement:

  • Experience: 1+ year(s) experience of working with patents;

Job skills: Experience with patents with working knowledge of electronics, proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word, critical thinking and problem-solving ability, research skills, writing skills and communication skills.


Description: This role involves preparing technical documentation relating to patent infringement and invalidation. The role requires critical thinking ability along with technical knowledge and problem solving abilities. Working knowledge of electronics is required but a qualification in electronics is not mandatory. You should be comfortable with tackling technical material while understanding the legal impact it has, as you may have to work in fields that are outside your field of specialisation.


Types of work you may be asked to undertake:

  • Drafting patents;
  • Reading and understanding a patent;
  • Preparing claim charts;
  • Drafting notes, reports, briefs, memos and presentations;
  • Conducting prior art searches;
  • Researching potential infringers and infringement.
