Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS-P), a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is organizing a Virtual Book Release and Discussion on ‘Decoding Child Sexual Abuse – A Socio-Legal Analysis of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012’, authored by Hon’ble Dr. Justice Shalini Phansalkar Joshi, Former Judge, High Court of Bombay, Distinguished Visiting Judge Scholar in Residence, Symbiosis Law School, Pune and published by Oak Bridge Publishing Pvt. Ltd. on January 22, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
The book shall be released in the august presence of Chief Guest of the event Hon’ble Mr. Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The event will be presided over by Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Hon’ble Chancellor, SIU, Founder & President, Symbiosis. The event will be also be graced by the presence of Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, SIU, Principal Director, Symbiosis.
The book release will be followed by a prelude to the book given by Dr. Shashikala Gurpur, Fulbright Scholar, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Dean, Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Jean Monnet Chair Professor in EU Climate Justice Governance, Management and Policy and in-depth conversation about the various aspects of the book with the author.
Dr. Shalini Phansalkar Joshi is the former Judge of the Bombay High Court. She has also worked as Judge of Family Court at Pune and then as the Registrar General of Bombay High Court. She was the Joint Director and thereafter the Officiating Director of Maharashtra Judicial Academy and has conducted training programs for Judicial Officers, Police Officers, Public Prosecutors, Members of Bar, Probation Officers and other stakeholders in National and State Judicial Academies and law colleges.
She is presently on the panel of examiners for Ph.D. candidates at Mumbai University and a ‘Distinguished Visiting Judge Scholar in Residence’ at the Symbiosis Law School, Pune. She has been invited to contribute to various national and international conferences and to present papers on a range of contemporary and socially relevant subjects.
