Details about the Panel Discussion

India has already made a big leap in digital adoption, as the collective number of internet users in India exceeds the number of internet users in some of the developed countries. Our country has emerged as the second-fastest digital adopter among seventeen major digital economies.

Digital rights, closely linked to freedom of expression and privacy, are those that allow people to access, use, create and publish digital media, as well as access and use computers, other electronic devices and communications networks. Mounting cases of digital surveillance are also serving as a threat to digital privacy.

Therefore, the chief aim of the present discussion is to deliberate upon the issues of digital rights and freedoms, data protection and digital surveillance.
