Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram’s All India Moot Court Competition

The Moot Court Society of GLC Thiruvananthapuram is organizing their 16th All India Moot Court (2nd Virtual) Competition 2022, scheduled to be held from 10th to 12th March 2022.

General Details

The competition is conducted through the online platforms ZOOM or GOOGLE MEET. All the participating teams should have good access to the internet and be able to access the above said online platform at the scheduled dates and time. This is a mandatory requirement for participation.

Eligibility

  • The Competition is open to all Law Colleges / Law Schools and Faculties / Universities, Departments of Law in India (hereafter “participating institutions”) recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  • The participation is limited to LL.B/ B.L students both in the Three year Scheme and Five Year Scheme.
  • Students doing post-graduation in law and students undergoing correspondence courses are not eligible to participate in the Competition.

General Rules

  • Only one team from each participating institution shall be registered for the competition. Each team shall comprise three members (two speakers and one researcher).
  • During the competition, participants are required to use Desktops or laptops. Mobile phones can cause technical issues and therefore not permitted for video conferences, for the purpose of participating in the competition.
  • Sound internet connection is a mandatory requirement. The organizers will not be responsible for any such connection errors from the side of the participants.

Registration

The team intending to participate must register on or before 22nd February 2022 (22-02-2022) by submitting the duly filled Performa provided in the form and making an online payment of Rs 2000/- as registration fee through the details.

  • The winner will be awarded certificates and a cash prize and the Runners-up will be awarded certificates and a cash prize. Other prize holders will be awarded certificates.
  • All the participants will be awarded E-certificates of participation.

  • Quarter Final Rounds – 3:00 pm, 11-03-2022 (Friday)
  • Semi-final Round- 10.00 am, 12.03.2022 (Saturday)
  • Final Round – 2.30 pm, 12.03.2022 (Saturday)
  • Valedictory Function & Prize Distribution – 5.00 pm, 12.03.2022 (Saturday)

About the organizer

Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram is also known as GLC Trivandrum is one of the institutions imparting graduate and post-graduate legal education in India. Affiliated to the University of Kerala, it is the second law college in Kerala and one of the oldest law colleges in India. It was established in 1875 by the then Maharajah of the erstwhile Princely State of Travancore. Notable alumni of the college including Judges of the Supreme Court of India such as Justice Fathima Beevi, judges of High Courts, politicians, and academicians such as N. R. Madhava Menon.
