City slicker lawyer, a discussion of grits and how they are cooked, and expert witness Marissa tomei opining on Chevy 327s, this movie has everything and will always hold the number one spot in my books. Growing up right beside little Italy also makes this my sentimental favorite.
This classic helped me understand how a trial worked as a young child. It also helped me understand how important the role of a jury is. This adaptation of the 1954 play will always remain one of my favorities.
Erin brockvich, highlighted the imbalances prevailing in the American legal system. As a former legal associate, I have always loved a David v Goliath story. Julia Roberts has done a fanatastic job in this flick.
I have admired John Travolta since I saw him playing Lawyer Jan Schlichtmann. This film, like Erin brockovich, is based on a true story. Travolta’s delivery is fantastic which could be understood only through one dialogue: “Your odds of surviving a game of Russian roulette are better than winning a case at trial.”
Tom Cruise and Jack Nicolson have given us one of the most surreal courtroom dramas. Though Cruise nails his role as a lawyer but it would be injustice to neglect Jack Nicolson’s performance. Jack steals the show when he screams, “you can’t handle the truth” . It stays with you after you are done with the movie.
