Make Plans

‍If you have some plans and ambitions engraved in your mind and heart, you can make the most out of a law school or any school. Plans act as the driving force, and they won’t let you get distracted from the path of success.

1. Reading:

Just reading what is taught in classes creates a good foundation. Reading just one section a day will make space for that section in your brain. Reading something daily will create consistency to stay on the track.

2. Case Briefing:

Since you are in law school, you might not opt for litigation, but still, you need to learn ‘how to briefcases.’ Practice ‘case briefing’ will help you in future and will make you more aware of court decisions.

3. Create Outlines:

Now you have learnt to briefcases, you might have some pointers to keep in mind. Write the main pointer from each case; this will create an outline for you to work in future.

4. Attend classes and Pay attention:

Sometimes you think that you can read the same stuff at your place, which is being taught in school. So you tend to not attend classes. Professors teaching in college have the experience, and sometimes they go out of the book. You have to attend classes and take an extra mile by paying attention.

5. Participate and Ask Queries:

Active engagement is most needed in the process of learning. A learner who listens carefully, and studies in depth always has questions. Do not hesitate to ask questions because if you become decent, you will not learn.

6. Take Notes:

Since the professor’s talks about many related things about one article so you cannot grasp all of them. You can write the main pointers and research about them later.

7. Review:

Review at the notes you have made and go through them every to and fro. Going through the manuscript won’t take much time and will help to retain the information.

8. Attend Revision Classes:

After the professor has done with the syllabus of the semester, they're-teach important topics from the course. Do not miss those classes because you will get to know important topics deeply.

9. Free Sources of Information:

Many online free sources are there to get more knowledge about any area of Law. Utilize every source of information to get most of the opportunity.

10. Feedback of Professors:

Professors have the experience, and they welcome students for free counselling. If you are dedicated enough to improve, then you must try out seeking help from professors.

11. Practice before the Exam:

Practice tests before exams always help you analyze your preparations. You get an overview of your preparation and can work accordingly.

12. Attend Workshops:

Joining Workshops will help you get in-depth knowledge about a particular subject. Generally, in college, we are taught about the basics, but depth knowledge is important if you get cases related to that in future.

13. Plan Short-term and Long-term Goals:

Plan your goals and it will help you. Differentiate the goals between short and long according to their relevance and importance in the future.

14. Create Balance:

Do not always study; sometimes you need to chill out and relax your brain and eyes. Going out and having fun helps to create a focus on studies when you want to. Otherwise, you feel sad that you can’t go out to have fun.

15. Stress Out:

A healthy learning mind needs to have no tensions. If you have a free mind, then you grasp things easily and quickly. Stress is the source of many psychological disorders and physical diseases.

16. Help Others:

When you help someone study and teach them to understand better about some article of process. While helping others, you make your concepts strong by revising it.

17. Get Help:

Suppose you are not able to understand any topic or feature. Never restrict yourself, ask someone humbly to help you out. There is nothing wrong with seeking help and understanding concepts.

Participating in Moot Courts gives you a live court experience of how things are going to be in live court. One must take part in moot court to prepare for the future and become professionally reluctant to follow the decorum of the court.

18. Failure is Key to Success:

If you fail in competition, do not be sad. The person who fails is the one who tried. Suppose you do not take part then you are not on the right track. Failing in something gives you the experience and force to take part again and succeed.
