RESERVATION IN PROMOTION

When India achieved Independence, Right to Equality was promised to each citizen of the country. To maintain equality at all the levels of society, Reservation System was introduced.  SC, ST and many minority communities were given Reservation in public institutions and work centers.

SUPREME COURT

Recently, the Supreme Court of Justices L Nageswara Rao and Hemant Gupta ruled that states are not obliged to make reservations.Reservation in promotions is also not a fundamental right. The Supreme Court has said that it cannot force state governments to make reservations.

Well! In my belief this decision is justified.Since, the State government is well aware about the state. It is elected by the people of state, so it is justified that State Government will do in the favor of the public.

Also, the Apex Court clearly stated that there must be some data on the basis of discretion is made by State Government. The decision can be cross checked, why the decision is made. Certain relevant data analysis should be conducted by State Government.

CONCLUSION

Although the reservation on promotion is a matter of group discussion, since India is a Democratic Country. All of us are free to speak and put our opinions. I heard about the proposal to provide reservation to SC and ST in government job promotions at the rate of 15% and 7.5%.

According to me it is going to promote inequality and conflict in the society. Every politician is worried about SC & ST. No one cares about General Category, it will lead to conversions from general to SC/ST.

We are in 21st Century we have accepted homosexuality. Hence, reservation should not be based on Caste, it should be centered on economic level. The government must eliminate all caste systems.And, there is only one caste remains, and that is INDIAN.
