14 LAWS AND RIGHTS BEING AN INDIAN YOU MUST KNOW:

 

1. Indian Aircraft Act, 1934; (fly permit)

It is illegal to fly a kite without a permit. According to the Indian Aircraft Act 1934, which says you need a permit or license to fly a plane, you also need a similar permit to fly a kite. This law has never been followed.

2. Maternity Benefit Act, 1961;

No company can fire a pregnant woman. It may be punishable by a maximum of 3 years of Imprisonment. "If the company has more than ten employees, then the pregnant woman employee is eligible to receive 84 days paid maternity leave."

3. Motor Vehicle Act, 1988;

The law states that if the traffic police snatch the key of vehicle, it is Illegal.You have full right to launch a Legal Proceeding against the officer.

4. Compensation for Gas Cylinder Blast;

In case of gas Cylinder blasts during the cooking of food, then the gas agency is liable to pay Rs. 50 lakh to the victim as compensation. 'To claim this compensation, consumers need to lodge an FIR to the nearest Police Station and submit it to the concerned gas agency.' As per Citizen Charter (Indian Oil Corporation Website)

5. Criminal Procedure Code, Section- 46;

No women can be arrested before 6 AM and 6 PM.

6. Indian Sarais Act, 1887;

No hotel can prohibit you from drinking potable water and using its washroom, not even 5-Star Hotel.

7.  Automotive Amendment, 2016;

Suppose you are fined for a crime like not wearing a helmet. The, you cannot be penalised for the same reason again in the same day.

8. Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, 1956;

If somebody belongs to Hindu religion and his son or grandson, then he can't adopt a Second Child. There must be a gap of at least 21 years between adopter and adopted.

9. A Police Officer is Always ON DUTY;

Police officers are always on duty. Suppose they receive any complaint or get notified about any crime happening near them. They cannot say 'I'm off Duty'.

10. A Single Man can't adopt a Girl Child;

This rule has been made to keep adoption safe and clean.

11. Without Vehicle Registration;

Many are not aware, but driving a newly purchased, still not registered Vehicle is Illegal as the registration process is still not complete without a perfect Number Plate.

12. Attempt to Suicide Illegal;

Yes,under Section 309 of Indian Penal Code attempt to suicide can land you in jail.Surviving after the trial to suicide is a punishable offence.

13.Good Teeth to Become Motor Vehicle Inspector;

Among various physical tests, one needs to pass the oral test to become a Motor Vehicle Inspector in Andhra Punishment. So, Aspirants of this job better start oral hygiene.

Unlucky Lottery;

Yes,by the Indian Treasure Trove Act, the lottery can also be Unlucky. Any Treasure found from Below the soil worth more than Rs. 11, comes under the Authority of Government.

So,these are the few laws that will get you baffled! Though I found many new laws,but these are some rights which are Catchy. Many laws discussed above are magnificent, and many are Restraining like Straitjacket. Hence, knowledge about laws will shield us from unknowingly committing Crime.
