The Asian Centre for Human Right is a Delhi based NGO. Suhas Chakma founded this organisation. The headquarter is in New Delhi Asian Centre for Human Rights is dedicated towards the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedom in the south and southeast Asian regions by:- "providing accurate and timely information and complaints to the National Human Rights Institutions, the United Nations bodies, informs whether the mechanism is appropriate or not, conducting investigations, research, campaigning and lobbying on the country situation on individual cases, increasing the capacity of human rights defenders and civil society group through relevant training on the use of national and international human rights procedures, providing input into International standard, setting processes on human rights, providing legal, political and practical advice according to the needs of human rights defenders and civil society groups, and securing the economic, social and cultural rights through rights-based approaches to development.

The countries where the Asian centre for human Rights is established are India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Thailand. These are the countries on which the ACHR mainly focuses.

The Asian centre for human rights majorly focused on issues involving political opposition groups, human rights defenders, ethnic and religious rights, prison condition, torture, the death penalty, violence against women and children, human trafficking, internally displaced persons.  

There is no information related to the funding of the Asian Centre for human rights. One of the projects of the ACHR “The National Campaign for Elimination of Female Infanticide in India” was funded by the European Commission.

The project Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) is a project which comes under the Asian centre for Human Rights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign on 22 January 2015 at Panipat in Haryana. The objectives of the scheme were to prevent gender-biased sex, selective elimination, ensure the survival and protection of the girl child and ensure education and participation of the girl child. Three key Ministries, that is, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) implementing various schemes on the girl child, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare responsible for the implementation of the PC&PNDT Act and the Ministry of Human Resources Development are involved in the implementation of the BBBP.
